Conferences

The State Council on Adapted Physical Education sponsors a national conference each year in the Fall.

37th National Adapted Physical Education Conference:
Promoting Physical Activity for All

Abilities-Disabilities-Possibilities; CLIMB: Challenge, Learn, Improve, Motivate, Believe; Westin Horton Plaza, San Diego, CA; November 20-22, 2008.

The Westin Horton Plaza has changed names. It is the same hotel that is now called The Westin Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego (link opens in new window). It's a great location for your entire family.

News Flash! The Westin for the 37th NAPEC is now all booked up. They have graciously made arrangements for room rates at the US Grant Hotel at the same Conference rate. Please make your reservations soon. The Grant is in easy walking distance to the Westin, where all sessions will be held.

The Friday featured speaker is John Lytle. John's cartoon strips of "Leeder O. Men" is an inspiration to people who use wheelchairs.

The Saturday featured speaker is Aaron Fotheringham. An ESPN video about Aaron and his historic wheelchair backflip is available for viewing at Aaron's web site.
